Trick
’s dishy Pitoc nabs flick

J.P. Pitoc, whom director Jim Fall cast in the current smash gay-themed comedy Trick after seeing the actor in a flesh-baring play, has pulled another role out of his hat. The hunk has signed to star alongside Molly Ringwald and Eric Bogosian in the independent movie In the Weeds.

A trash-talking drag queen, an estranged couple, a horny roommate, and a résumé-wielding actress - these are a few of the people complicating matters for two young men desperately searching for a place to be alone in Jim Fall's bright romantic comedy. Trick affirms the possibility of love in the most unlikely of circumstances as it follows its two appealing heroes on their perambulations through the gay demimonde of downtown Manhattan.  Message board at IMDB.COMIMDB Info

Theater

Timothy Leary in Space
Off-Off-Broadway is, in many ways, the research and development arm of American theatre. Because this script focuses on character study, these actors had adequate, if not outstanding, material with which to work. And because of marketing clearly targeted at a gay audience - a good-looking, all male cast with some nudity - these actors were assured an audience. Unfortunately, aside from a few good performances and a few select passages from the script, there is little to recommend this theatre piece
Cave of Dreams
The real star of the evening was the production design team (Victor Morales, Sibylle Burkhardt, Will Siss, Dan Jagendorf, Amy Laughlin, Samantha Porter, Lucio Zago, JP Pitoc & Company), who created a dreamlike reality, thus achieving the evening's desired effect. All the action was underscored by the hypnotic images and the haunting score of music and voices that seemed to ripple through the stage as if in an actual dream.
